Farewell and Thanks to Outgoing SRC Members
The Foundation for Physical Therapy extends its sincerest thanks to 3 outgoing members of the Scientific Review Committee (SRC): Diane Borello-France, PT, PhD (Duquesne University), Rose Marie Rine, PT, PhD (Specialty Therapy), and Deborah Thorpe, PT, PhD, PCS (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). Since January 2010, these members have participated in 10 review sessions (including the Claggett Family Research Grant), have examined close to 75 applications each, and have been crucial in awarding more than 60 grants and scholarships to emerging physical therapist researchers. Their expertise and leadership will be greatly missed.
Also rotating off the SRC at the end of 2012 is Chair of the SRC, Katherine Rudolph, PT, PhD (University of New England). Rudolph has served on the SRC since 2006 and has led the committee as chair since 2010. She guided the Foundation's first peer review of a high-priority research grant, The Claggett Family Research Grant, by heading up a team of 16 reviewers to examine more than 30 applications. Rudolph also was instrumental in the process of updating all of the Foundation's applications and review templates. She has been a staple participant in the Foundation's Research Salon at the Combined Sections Meeting (CSM)—known for her extensive conversations with potential applicants. Last, but not least, Rudolph provided the steadfast leadership that has enabled the SRC to continue to be well respected within and outside the profession for its peer-reviewed award process. Although Rudolph will be greatly missed, she will always have a seat on the couch in the Research Salon. Thank you once again, Dr Rudolph.
