Your Students Can Support Research, Too
The annual Pittsburgh–Marquette Challenge is a student-led effort that supports physical therapy research. Since 1989, physical therapist and physical therapist assistant students from across the country have raised more than $2.3 million to support the Foundation.
The 2011 Pittsburgh–Marquette Challenge supported the $40,000 research grant awarded to Jill Heathcock, MPT, PhD, of Ohio State University, for her project, “Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in Children With Hemiparesis.” Heathcock was able to thank all participating schools in the Challenge for the opportunities their efforts provide during a videotaped presentation at National Student Conclave. The Challenge also supported the 2012 PODS II scholarship awarded to Miriam Rafferty, PT, DPT, NCS, of the University of Florida.
The 2013 Pittsburgh–Marquette Challenge is gearing up for action now—this year marks a special year for the Challenge as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of this successful fundraising initiative. Help us celebrate and make an impact on the profession and ask your school to participate today! For more information, visit the Foundation's website: Foundation4PT.org/Challenge.
