↵a Test statistics defined: the fixed-effect RR value is a relative risk statistic used for dichotomous outcome measures that provides information regarding the likelihood of a particular outcome and is similar to an odds ratio with P values <.05 typically being significant. The SMD and WMD are the standardized mean difference and weighted mean difference, respectively, between the study measurements in the control group and the experimental group (for outcomes that are continuous variables), with a larger difference implying a greater effect from the experimental condition. Funnel plot analyses revealed a potential small study bias in regard to quality-of-life results. HF=heart failure, 95% CI=95% confidence interval.
